i gotta stupid question

Like Emily my sweat test was very high...160 haha! I taste salty year round, even in the middle of winter. My friends get a kick out of it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

But I am agreeing with the rest and saying it toally depends on the person. I am sure the higher the sweat test results the saltier the person...but that is just what I think.

To add on to Emily's "it depends on mutations" I can agree with that. Her and I have only one in common and my numbers are much higher than hers...maybe it makes sense?

Hi, I don´t think everybody with cf test salty. It probably depends on your sweet test result. My boyfriend was diagnosed last year(35), his sweat test is 67, first one negative, and he doesn´t taste salty at all . I guess if you sweat test is abnormal but not to high you don´t taste salty

I'm glad you asked this question. I'm pretty much just beginning to learn about CF and have read about salty-tasting skin. (Nobody ever performed a sweat test on me, to my knowledge.) One day, I licked my arm, and it turns out I DO have salty-tasting skin! (Gawd, this sounds pretty creepy and perverted, and I'm glad we all know what I'm talking about here!!! LOL) I was going to ask my teenaged granddaughter to do it and tell me if it tasted salty, but that was just a little too weird for me to be able to do.

I have a dog and a cat who ALWAYS lick my hands and arms. I thought they "wuved me," but it turns out the probably only like me for my SALT! LOL!
