I just coughed up blood

JazzysMom is 100 percent correct. I went into the hospital in January coughing up 1/2 cup of blood for two days in a row. Any time you cough up blood you should stop the pulmozyme and HTS plus any chest PT for 24 hours if you can handle it. Then introduce one or the other back into the routine following the 24 hour period. Then you can bring in the other treatment that same night if there is no bleeding.

The only thing dangerous about coughing up blood is it can easily sit in your small airways and it's a great place for an infection to brew.

I've been coughing up blood since I was 12 and I agree with SarahJean that it's just become the norm for me. I did however get coiled for the second time this last hospitalization.

I hope the bleeding stopped and take care.
