Hi all, I'm 22 I live in Allentown PA and I have Cystic Fibrosis... Had it for quite some time now :p

I've got a laundry list of stories to share, but I'll keep it short... or as short as possible..

I don't have health insurance, my dad worked for Bethlehem Steel and got laid off 4 years before he would have recieved his pension, in short my life has sucked so far and I'm a fighter by nature and I won't stop until I take my last breath. I recently got an entry level management in training position with Dominos (yes im a pizza guy) and it's going to pay off VERY well as soon as I get through all this dern bookwork. I should be getting benefits at the end of this month but it may not have a prescription plan. This country irritates me and Im turning to you folks for help, anything you got I'll take <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Oh and I was engaged last December 18th but we have since lost the ring <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> We're still getting married ring or not haha. Here's a picture of my beautiful half on the left and my ugly mug on the right <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Welcome Opi. Where do you go to clinic? I grew up in philthydelphia. I had a friend from cf clinic who lived in allentown. A twin (1 w/cf 1 w/o cf - last name was Blair.) Welcome to the forum.

There are several CF clinics in Philly. I think there is one at Hanaman (not sure If I spelled that right) Hospital. Anyway, start with them, pulminology department. Since you don't have insurance, you should be able to get meds through state and federal funded programs. The CF clinic will have a social worker who can assist you.

Opi - just call them, make the appointment, tell them the situation, and they will work with you on the financial stuff. Start taking control and care of your health. You want to be around for the future Mrs. don't ya?

p.s. Opi,
<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>I have Cystic Fibrosis... Had it for quite some time now :p </end quote></div>you were born with CF

Honestly I've never seen the inside of one. I was under steady care with Dr. Robert Miller a pulmonologist out of lehigh valley hospital. When I turned 18 and my dad lost his job I haven't really been anywhere or receiving any treatment and as of late it really has been affecting me, I cough up a lot now and I want medicine.

I'm in CA so I don't know what the laws are there in PA, but don't they have any kind of Medicaid system? Reading that you haven't received treatment since you were 18 is really concerning. Here's a link to check out - hope it helps you. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/OMAP/">PA Medicaid</a>
