I actually get inspiration from my nurse practioner. She has lived with Chrohn's disease for over 20 years. She has literally been on the brink of death so many times that some of the nurses have lost count. She has had kidney failure, she has tube feeding every night. She can not intake normal food anymore.
Yet, I know she doesn't express how much pain she is in, you see it in her eye's. Sometimes when I hug her she is so little, a 100lbs maybe. She stands 5'7" too.
She is the most wonderful person. Her spirit and laugh echo everywhere she is. Plus, she really understands the tiring routine, complications and frustrations with everything. Sometimes not words are said at all, just an expression.
I love her tons, and sometimes I don't see her as much as I would like. Currently she isn't seeing patients because she was working too much and she ended up in the hospital again.
I figure if this woman can be a guidance to patients, take care of her health, travel with her med's/needles and such, I can do the same. Too have a system that doesn't digest anymore, that is very painful. Her strength, there aren't any words for. She is my inspiration, because she still cares about others, herself, and tries to do what she can to still be there for others; even when she is tired. She has had severe near death situations, and she comes back. One of these days she won't, but she will still be around.
