When we picked out first names, oh about 5-6 years ago (seriously, LOL!!!) we decided on Tristan Markus and Ryland didn't really have a middle name. But we thought we'd have 1 child, MAYBE another later on, so we figured we'd use either cassandra or Tristan, end of story.
So, when we found out it was two boys Mark decided he liked Ryland Markus better than Tristan Markus. I liked both, no preference so I said, Ok, I guess Ryland Markus is fine. And then I thought, since we are using part of your first name for one boy's middle name (his birth name is Mark but he goes by Markus a lot) why not use your middle name for the other boy. So it would be Ryland Markus and Tristan Edward. But NOOOOOOOO, he doesn't like edward that much. BUmmer, I was really set on it!
How we came up with declan.... when we found out it was three babies but we didnt' knowt he sexes, we decided we needed another boys name and another girls name. So far we had Cassandra, Tayla, Tristan and Ryland. We picked out Olivia for the third girls name and were stuck on a third boy's name. Then we did some online searching for names (no need to buy baby books anymore <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> and found the name Aedan (usually spelled Aidan) which in that spelling means <i>Saint Aodhan of Fern performed many miracles, including healing the lame and blind son of a British king.</i> We also stumbled upon teh name Declan, meaning <i>Name of a 6th C. saint who founded the monastery Ardmore in County Waterford.</i> So for the third boys name we picked Aedan Declan.
We kind of forgot about Aedan and Declan until we couldn't pick a middle name for Tristan and then I opened a word document where we had saved all the names. We wrote Tristan Aedan out and Tristan Declan out, said it aloud a few times and the decided on Declan.

Claudette, whichever boy is born first will be Tristan. Mark didn't want to name them now, and I did. But I figured he gets very very limited control over the pregnancy, I've read how a lot of men feel helpless, so I figured I didn't care enough to make a stink about it. So they will be named whoever comes out first <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
Yep Auntie, I emailed the "to call when babies" come list to my mom yesterday, you're on there!!!!! She's so funny, she printed off like 6 of them, stashed 2 in her purse, one in the car, one at the office, one at home.... LOL. She is getting so excited! She's going to call you and Froggy (thefrogprincess). Froggy (jessi) lives close to us, although we've never met, so she's going to come for a visit as soon as the nurses say the babies can have visitors aside from us and my mom and Mark's mom.
Candice, Mark said the same thing last night about the Jackal. He says I've seen it but for the life of me I can't remember seeing it. Although I don't remember much right now anyways!
