I need to ask

<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> we are still waiting for the genetic testing to come back but while we wait my dgt who is 7 has been back and forth to the pul. dr for constant coughing wheezing the dr looked in her nose and said she needs to be put on nasonex along with her singular pulmacort prednisone and xopenex the dr is the top specialist of pul.not cf I feel none of these meds are helping her she also has an inhaler for when we go out. what I want to know are all these meds nec. no she does not bring up the mucus after these treatments but they do open her up so she can breathe easier. the dr now wants her to see an ENT for what? if anyone has any answer for me please respond

I know it seems like a lot, but this is the story. It can be a vicious cycle. So they seem to be concentrating on keeping her airways open which is obviously important. Not just with her actual breathing, but not being able to breath will decrease your intake of food & liquid thus making one prone to weight loss & dehyration. The Nasonex is to minimize inflammation in the nose which is the same idea as the lungs. She probably is being referred to a ENT to make sure there are not actual sinus issues that need to be addressed. Its not something you can tell from shining that light up your nose. Just remember that if the airways arent open & there is muscuous to bring up......she wont be able to get a lot if any up. After things have leveled out then the meds could probably be decreased. The only thing I worry about immediately is the Prednisone. That is powerful stuff that can causen side affects faster then most of the others. Its alot to handle, but really so early cant say if its too much.
