I'm agreeing with the last one, the Ambry test will tell you what you need to know. It seems like forever waiting for the results, but to me the sweat tests were just a stepping stone to getting answers, the Ambry test...has the answers. Well worth the wait. Good Luck with your little one, and God Bless. Keep us up to date.

thanks ladies! It is a long wait... it is also a scaray propect to think my other 3 children may have this and not know it... my child #3 had abnormal poops for the first 3 yrs of her life and has just now atarted having formed poops...hers was never as bad as my sons though. she is also 3 yrs old and 27 lbs...still wears 18 mo clothes!! now i am worried she might have it. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

in my heart i feel like he probably has CF, since the main reasons for pancreas insuff are cancer, alcoholism, diabetes and CF... well he had a normal MRI, so that should rule out cancer, he isnt a drinker. that only leaves diabetes and CF....His Dr's dont htink he has diabetes (although he drinks like a fish) and so we are still at CF.... you see the pattern here....I guess I have resigned myself mentally and if by some weird fate he doesnt have it then I iwll be estatic... if he does for sure i will already be somewhat ready for it...

thanks for the support!

April -- has he been tested for celiac's disease? I believe that is another cause for pancreatic insufficiency.

yep, he has had an endo and sigmoid and they took about 12 biopsies at that time..he was tested for celiac, eosinophilic gastro and endo and even a sugar intolerance (special test that had to be sent to NY). So we are getting close to the end of the testing line...

he had a U/S that couldnt see the pancreas, thats why we had the MRI. In the U/S is showed a bright liver and his kidney was slightly stretched.

My peds Dr was on maternity leave and one of the other peds started the process of sending us to peds gastro. So when we went this week for an ear infection i had to update her on everything that has happened..she is trying to get all the tests and info form all the places we had to go. I am hoping to hear from her on monday to see if she wants a CT to check on the liver and kidney..
