If I didnt have CF & still was small chested & could get insurance to pay I would have implants.

I cant say CPT beat my boobs down since I wasnt compliant for most of my life. I do think motherhood (even tho I didnt breast feed) & loss/gain/loss of weight as well as age took its toll on me.

I have padded bras, but if they get too old or you lose too much weight you have wrinkled boobs <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

I also am very small in that department. I know it is a personal issue to each woman. I look at it a little differently I guess...my mom has survived breast cancer twice having undergone a double mastectomy and an aunt who passed away with it after having a mastectomy as well and another aunt alive today after having breast cancer twice. Definitely scary for me. I had the genetic testing done for myself to see what the risk was for me. Before I even got the results back, I was asked if I would consider a double mastectomy if the result came back positive for the breast cancer gene. Without hesitation, I would have done it. Thankfully, the test came back negative. But I think I am lucky just to be here...and my little boobs are the least of my worries...LOL
Good luck to you, though, in whatever you decide...as I said it is definitely a personal decision.

I have said the same thing about CPT and my boobs! Unfortunately I actually do get it from one side of my family so that excuse doesnt hold up. However, as my CF becomes worse I am actually glad (well, maybe not glad but more accepting) that I have small boobs. I can get away with not wearing a bra especially on days that I am extra SOB. A bra causes extra constiction making it even worse. I dont have to worry about extra weight on my chest or being smothered when doing CPT in postral drainage. I have thought of breast implants myself. As everyone else said, any surgery has a risk. You must also realise that most implants need to be replaced at some point (i think it's 10 yrs). Also, in order to have implants put in you will need to be put to sleep, which is an increase risk with pre-existing breathing problems. An unnecessary risk in my book (hint to why I am still part of the IBTC). You will have to deal with the pain of having your chest cut, pulled and stretched on and messed with. Therefore, causing pain and probaby doing improper treatments which in turn causes a drop in PFTs. Also, any CF bugs you have will cause an increase risk, possibly cost more or the doctor might refuse due to the high risk.

I agree with Jo, buy a bra, it's not worth the risk. Go to Victoria Secrets...and what's her secret? Buy a bra, wear and you'll have boobs!!!
