I have a few questions.... I do not have CF but i REALLY do have stomach problems. I called my doc today to get an appt. my problem has been going on for a long time, (over a year) long time to me!!!! anyway, i will get horrible cramps ( worse than labor pains) vomiting, sweating and these attacks normally occur om the middle of the night, they keep me up for a few hours and after i finally am able to actually have a bowel movement i am exhausted the entire next day. I have not been diagnosed and my fear is having a colonoscopy done, which i know is what my doc will suggest. Do you think it could be caused from diet, stress or what, it used to only occur about once a month but now it is more like a couple of times a week . I am afraid to eat because my stomach hurts and i do not want to be up sick all night again... Any suggestions?????

I don't have CF either, but my son does. I do have Crohn's disease which is a disease of the digestive system. It sounds like you need to see a gastroenterologist; you do not need to suffer any longer. As far as a colonoscopy goes it's really not that bad. The worst part for me is the prep, you have to drink this nasty, salty, drink to flush your colon out. I can't stand the stuff and so I insert an ng tube in my nose and into my stomach! Now they have pills if you don't want to drink anything, yea! You get an iv and are sedated and sleep through the whole thing. I have had more than a dozen and they pale in comparison to intense stomach cramps that wake you up at night. There are so many great drugs for stomach problems and you may need to only change your diet; but do get help!!
