Thanks for all your replies. Based on what you've all said. I'm thinking this is something I should only try with my Dr's approval, and close monitoring. I guess that goes without saying, anyway <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I was on the therapy for about 8 years. Then I stopped in 2004. I saw a huge decline in my ability to fight infection. But I'm also getting older, so who knows if it was related.

I started the Ibuprofin therapy again in January 2008. I had the best 3 months on record in YEARS! My FEV1 climbed to a new high (1.62 Liters) I caught a cold and did a round of IVs for 14 days and bounced right back. I'm not sure if any of this is related to the motrin, but it could be. I'm certainly not going to go off it anytime soon.

I thought the CF study that used high doses of Ibuprofin found that it's most effective for prepubescent CFers. I could be wrong. Regardless, I am far past puberty, and I love the stuff.

It amazes me that we take a man made chemical compound and push it onto people when we know there are serious negative side effects to it's use...When there are several avenues of plant based solutions for these very same problems. Never has my CF doctor told me to look into any of these things. I have had to do the elbow grease on my own. Either our system is horribly ignorant, or there indeed is some widespread pharma cabal pushing their agenda. Pick one, or a fraction of both.

BTW If the results they have had with turmeric came from a patentable human source, they would be trumpeting it's virtues louder than Gabriel's horn for the second coming. It would have stronger sales than viagra, and cialis combined * 1000. But they can't, so they wont.

It makes me sick when a layman like myself, via slow methodical research can improve my health and quality of life via natural means of supplementation, and my doctors couldn't do squat. How often when you went to clinic, have you been told to look into natural supplementation?
