Thank You all for your input!

I'd just love to be able to open my mail and see in my "IN" box that I just one 6 million dollars with no joke...or I got a job in one of the locations of my preference (and wage request) and it was a "meant to be" reply.

However, though I've put Seattle as one location, it seems like anywhere else, the job availability is going to be a major determinant in finding a location to live.

I've worked in the South Bend/Mishawauka area many years ago and it didn't seem to different from Michigan, even got a bit of "lake effect" in the winter. However I did know a guy who lived further south in Indiana and he didn't seem prepared for the cold weather.

But I'm still keeping everyone's suggestions in mind <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I hope you get the 6 million dollar message too!

Yep, we are just far enough north for lake effect, even though we don't consider ourselves to be near the great lakes. I grew up enjoying LOTS of snow days, sometimes having a week or two off of school at a time. When I lived in central IN and central OH, I was a teacher and getting a snow day was rare!
