I had a G-Tube fore eight years. When they took mine out they told me it would close on it's own (really Doc? Come on.). So I placated them for two weeks. After the thing smelled like throw up for two weeks, my starbucks coffee came pouring out of me one day while I was drinking it. Needless to say, I was in that week to have it surgically closed.

I really think it depends on how long it's been in and how healed that site is for the G-Tube. If there is no fresh skin, it won't close on it's own.

I also want scar revision one day. Mine feeding tube one is the worst of all the scars I have!

Hazel had hers in for 10 months, not used for the last 5 or so. Its not open and barely leaking, but the nurse said no baths until it had a good scab. There's no scab that I can see. The surgeon said most will close up on their own, but some require surgery. I'll give her til the end of the week and call them back.

Skye's has fallen out at night. A few times, because the balloon pops but anyways...it closes up VERY fast for her. She has to have it re-opened 2 times before after only hours of it being out. I woke her up a few times and found it in her crib and just couldn't get it back in. I would call your clinic and see what they say about it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
