illness due to Cayston?

Today was my brothers 2nd day of his first month on Cayston. He's 14, BTW. Yesterday he did it, and there were no problems. But today..he got up, did the first one, and almost immediately after that just seemed to fall sick out of nowhere. He slept for about 3 hours, got up and had chills and fever, can't/won't eat, and went back to sleep, which he is still doing. He will barely even talk. All in all, he's been conscious about 2 hours today..

Obviously we are watching him, and calling the doctor tomorrow if he doesn't seem much better. But did you have anything similar to this in relation to cayston?

He seems totally convinced that this is due to cayston, and won't do the rest of the treatments today. But it could just be a flu, and a big coincidence. That's all we're trying to rule out right now, cayston or some other thing? Maybe this could be an allergic reaction, even...

We looked at the side effects, and they seem not to fit this description. Any input?

I have not started Cayston yet myself will be doin it in October but this month is my Colistin month I an always feel like crap and coughing etc the first several days on colistin cause it is like a mini tune up for me I think. I would say at least give it two weeks and see if it is better by then. Maybe the Cayston is killing off all the bugs he is growing and when that bacteria dies it is released into the blood stream and can make you sicky.

Hope he has some relief soon!

Hi All went to the doctor today and I am also suppossed to start Cayston, I've used this as a IV med several times over the years under another name, though I can't remember any side effect right now, can anyone give me any feed back on how they are doing. Using a new drug always gets me worried I inhaled Tobi for several yrs, without knowing I was losing some hearing I now use hearing aids?
