Hi all,
Firstly I wanted to thank-you all SO SO much for all your lovely messages and emails they all mean so much to us.
Thank-you to Marjolein for keeping you all updated! She is definately a friend in a million!
I'm sorry it has been so long to get to you all, I came home last wed but am spending every spare minute at the hospital with Oliver so have hardly had two minutes to get online!
I have tried to keep my blog updated, but Ed cut through a cable mowing the lawn on Saturday which cut off our internet and TV! They came today to fix it though!
Oliver is doing amazingly well now. He is off all machines and drips is being fed 2 hourly through an NG tube with my milk and being offered to the breat often he has a few sucks but gets tired quickly - but is only really 34 gestation today so shouldn't even be here.
He has to put on weight get to 4lb 6oz and be feeding totally on me to be able to come home so we've got a few weeks yet.
They are putting fortifier in my milk as he's not getting enough calories from it and is still loosing weight even though we are day 13 and he should really have reached his birth weight again by day 10 and we're still 9oz less!
I feel a little crap about him needing fortifier in his milk as I'm obviously not providing him what he needs but at least they arn't changing him onto formula.
I will try keep you all updated as much a poss as you have all been amazing support to me throughout my pregnancy.
Keep checking my blog www.diddyangel.blogspot.com for photos and updates
Lots of love to you all and Thank-you again

Welcome back to posting! I've been looking at your blog to keep updated. Don't feel bad about needing the fortifier right now - I'm pretty sure they give that to most preemies. And don't feel that your milk isn't enough - you're doing so good for him!! The preemie milk you are making is the absolute best thing he could be getting. For you to be pumping around the clock after all you have gone through shows what kind of dedication you have to your family. When my nephew was born at 33 weeks I think it took him at least a week to start gaining weight - he was being fed pumped milk w/ fortifier as well.

Keep up the good work <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Welcome back! We have missed you!
Like Caroline said, do not feel bad about the fortifer! Alexa was born at 34 weeks. For the first few weeks we had to add to my pumped milk to get her to gain.
Your milk is perfect and fine. Certainly not lacking because of CF. Oliver is just working so hard to grow, it takes more calories than usual. One of my non CF friends had her baby last month at 30 weeks. They are adding fortifer to her milk and as of last week, baby was still not gaining a whole lot. It happens and it is stressful but you will get through. Before you know it, Oliver will be a rolly polly baby and you will wonder what happened to your little tiny preemie! You are doing a GREAT job!
