...and I'm MARRIED!

Our wedding itself was gorgeous (I'll be sure to link pictures when I have them), the reception was lots of fun...

The honeymoon was a blast - we had such a great time (it was SO hard to come back).

Did you know that 5 miles of backpacking with a 40 pound pack serves as really good airway clearance? If we'd have known that, we could have backpacked for three days instead of two, since we had more than enough battey power.

Congratulations! Glad that the wedding and honeymoon were great! I can only imagine that backpacking is an excellent airway clearance technique!

Congradulations!!
Definitely, married life is awsome (when you know you met the right one, my opinion!). It's wonderful to have a partner to be there for you and you for them in times of good and bad! Godspeed!
BTW, you can tell us now where you went on your honeymoon since you're back! (It's an omen to tell before the honeymoon...you might get a disturbing visit from your friends, etc.!)

For those who requested...

Where we went on our honeymoon:

For reference, a Minnesota Map

Sunday after gift opening in Bloomington (Twin Cities area) we drove to the Naniboujou Lodge along the North Shore of Lake Superior, near Grand Portage (almost to Canada). We stayed there two nights. Monday we hiked around some of the state parks - and ate really really tasty food at the lodge.

Tuesday morning, we caught the ferry to Isle Royale National Park. After we arrived on the island, we strapped on our packs (~40 pounds each) and hiked to our campsite at Huginnin Cove, about 4-5 miles. It's an amazing park, and our campsite was wonderful. The next morning, we hiked back to the campground near the ferry (Washington Creek). On Thursday, we rented a two person kayak for the morning. We saw 5 moose while kayaking - which was fun (and a tiny bit scary when the one and her calf were really close).

After catching the ferry back to the mainland, we drove down to Duluth and stayed for two nights at The Ellery House bed and breakfast.

Total trip hiking miles - 16.25, including approximately 10 miles with packs on. Considering how little we trained for the trip, we were really happy with how well we did. Hopefully that means we're set for the hiking extravaganza we have planned for two weeks from now out in Glacier National Park in Montana.

If your ever in the NE, the Adirondaks offer some great hiking. I loke hiking and go as often as I can. I've always wanted to go out west. I'm happy to see people getting married. it's been three great years of marrage for me, and i wouldn't trade it in for anything.
