Like I said before. Stay in England. Our health system sucks...Unless you work full time with a decent corporation and plan to do that for a long time...And pay at least 140 dollars a month just to remain in that system...Then each copay (varies greatly, but in general) costs 20+ bucks per prescription. Then if there is something new like say the early days of hypertonic saline (even though that is cheap) comes along, your doc and you will have to argue endlessly to get it approved. Also, regardless if you are on a PPO or an HMO (two different forms of corporate health insurance via companies here)...If you go into the hospital say 3 times @ 2 weeks more than what they think you should go in on their actuaries (formulas of profit) they will LITERALLY come to your hospital and essentially kick you out and put you on home IV's. Granted that isnt such a bad thing now due to MRSA and the other hospital infections. All of the above is real, and i'm not some tin foil hat wearing weirdo...The same excact scenarios took place with me.
Basically, our system revolves around profit for private companies. If you become a blip on their radar, and you are sucking away at the bottom line of profit, you will run into a ton of problems. I've had CIGNA, blue cross, united healthcare, and several others. Some were more decent than others, but they were all fueled in the same general way of complete BS profit greed crap that answer to their share holders.
Interested in our government disability/indigent health care? Good luck with that. That is a whole different ball of BS.
Basically in a nut shell...Stay in England. While you get taxed out the ass and then some, at least your taxes go to something besides a faux federal reserve system and paying of the interest on our debt. My ladies family comes from England. Considering how bad my country has slowly devolved into, I have often thought of saying screw it, and seeking citizenship in your country or canada. Our country, while galant and beautiful in it's initial purpose and general path, is now a giant corporate greed machine that doesn't answer to the people. It answers to the almighty $$$$$
