I was making some researches about sodium nitrite and found these:

Sodium Nitrite-Mediated Killing of the Major Cystic Fibrosis Pathogens Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Burkholderia cepacia under Anaerobic Planktonic and Biofilm Conditions" ( http://aac.asm.org/content/54/11/4671.full.pdf+html )

Anaerobic killing of mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa by acidified nitrite derivatives under cystic fibrosis airway conditions ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1350997 )
