We flew with Air-Tram to Florida last month. Not only did they NOT charge us an extra baggage fee, they also INSISTED that it be kept in the cabin with us. It fit just fine in the overhead compartment (We have a Hil-Rom), but if it hadn't they would have stowed it in the flight attandant's area. They didn't want to be responsible for loss or damage, so they told us we'd have to carry it on. We also had to board before other passengers so we could get it down the aisle easily.

We did take a letter from the doctor to certify that it was necessary medical equipment, but hardly needed that at all.

Happy Travels!
