My 3mnth old has cf and is doing very well (I think). Hes on creon and has a nebulizer that we just started but most things dont seem to bother him. I had moved my older sons birds outside just incase and with winter comming its to cold here. I just wanted to know if anyone knew if them being in his older brothers room (where he is never in) would bother him? I know this is an odd question but I have no where else to put em. Thank you for the help.

Hello,
My son will be two years old this month, we have two birds (parakeets)in the family room (the birds are older than he is!). I sewed an elastic band through a lace curtain to cover the bottom of the cage with. It is not so much the bird feathers but the bird feces that carry infectious elements (as told to us by our doctor). So far my son's lungs are clean (chest x-ray every year) and he only does albuterol, no other inhaled medications. He was diagnosed with CF at birth, so I do not think the birds are a hazard to his health. Good luck to you and your sweet baby!

We had parakeets for about 3 years. We just got rid of them this year when my husband thought that they were adding to my health problem.

I still have issues, but overall I do think my health is better. I was sad to see them go, but they were messing. HOLY COW....THAT I dont miss!
