Diane,

Years ago I used think that the day they found the cure for the common cold, I would be so much healthier. Mainly because every single time, the cold would go into my chest. I think I started taking zinc lozenges 20 years ago at the first sign of a cold. I'd feel like I had the cold only slightly. No more stuffy nose, etc.

Then I found this product in the health food store called Gan Mao Ling. With that and zinc lozenges, I'd have mild cold symptoms, if at all. The down side of Gan Mao Ling was the product was made in China, and well, you know, quality control, plus the package said if symptoms persist "Bouble the dosage."

When Airborne came out, I noticed the ingredients were almost identical to my Chinese herbs, but made in the USA (maybe even organic.) I think that one of the herbs acts as a decongestant, because it helps prevent the cold from moving southward, for me, anyway.

When Zicam came out, I added that too and I can't remember the last time I had a cold, other than a slight cold feeling: With the nasal rinse and Dristan -- no dripping down the back of the throat -- which is the killer for us.

My Boyfriend was fighting a cold this week, so I had him do the "regimen" and he felt slightly cold-like. No sneezing, no coughing! He's a believer.

I also sometimes have trouble with hemoptysis. And if that happens I stop most of my supplements too. Especially fish oil as well as blood thinners. So I know what you are talking about.
