I noticed you said you contacted the doctor's office. In the past, especially in big offices, some of
the people answering the phone think they are in charge and make decisions that they have no business making. And yes, some doctors give them the power. I wouldn't take anything that they say as if it's written in stone.
First, I would call any company that dispenses CF meds. Ask for their "Medicare expert." They always have one, because they want to make sure they are reimbursed by Medicare. Then ask them how they code CF meds for Medicare.
Then either call or write your doctor a note explaining that your expenses for CF drugs and other things are so high and these drugs are covered if it's coded correctly. Then give him/her the code that you already found out from the CF drug company.
And in the future, make sure that code is on all prescriptions and forms.
