inhaled meropenem

how long have you been on them?
do you do inhaled cephtaz? i do and love it, and didn't even know about meropenem nebs
what other ones do you do?

About two years ago when my fev1 was around 15%, and iv antibiotics were not working for me anymore, my doctor decided i should try some nebs to see if that would help. I was given tobi neb for afew weeks, twice a day. Although it did help to get my fev1 up, i still had alot of infection in my lungs that i could not shift!!
Thats when i started the fantastic meropenem neb!! I had used meropenem before, but only by iv. The doctor explained that not many of his patients were having meropenem through the neb (think he said 3!), but it was worth a try!
I have been on it ever since! I do my meropenem when i wake up, later my hypertonic saline, pulmozyme, then meropenem again before bed. I dont no what i would have done with out it? The great thing about it is it makes me cough and get up all the cr*p on my lungs. Any more questions, please ask??
