Hi

Me again...

I am just tying to get things ready for school tomorrow and I was wondering..what the heck do I do with the Insulin.... It has to stay cold... I only have one bttle.. Should I take a few units out in the am and put it in the syringe? or do I bring the whole bttle? What do you guys do?

ALso I have the space ball packs of TObi and Zosyn and they have to stay cold as well. They gave me a fanny pack to use but how do I do all this. and keeep it cold???

I mean I could try to figure something out but I thought I would ask the pros....

Thanks again

For storage purposes, those things should be kept cold, but if you are going to use them through out the day, don't worry about it.

The Space ball packs actually work better and infuse at the correct rate if they are at room temp. When I have them and have an early (6 am) dose, I leave them out next to my bed over night along with the heprin and saline flushes so I just have to roll over and hook up and snooze a little more.

Check and see if your insulin is offered in another form. Humolog makes these insulin pins that are a little bigger than a sharpie marker and easy to cary around. Usually I carry the bottle in my purse and a few syringes. You'll get comfortable with it in a little while. I bought a hard plastic "tampon" case, from Wal-mart, in their travel items section. It's made by Goode. It works well as a discrete way to carry syringes if you feel wierd about having the things float around your bag.

Good Luck!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
