I pay $30. for 30 day supply of Tobi & $30. for 30 day supply of Pulmozyme or $60. for 90 day supply of either. Pulmozyme needs approval, but the approval lasts for 2 years.

All my other meds range from $5. to $20. copays for 30 day supply or $10. to $40. for 90 day supplies.

I feel for those with a huge copay/co insurance on meds. I know when my meds & Roberts are all due to be refilled around the same time that even with fairly low co pays...it is a kick in the purse!!!

Once we meet our out of pocket maximum of $1000 for prescriptions, we pay $15 for tobi and $15 for pulmozyme.

Prior to that we pay $15 and 20%, so it's bit of a shocker when the year starts over and in January I'm paying $536 for tobi and $360 for pulmozyme. We have a flexible spending account thru work, so I submit the amount to flex asap to get reimbursed. My husband actually had a pharmacy intern in tears one time when she was ringing up the tobi, she kept thinking it was a horrible mistake and kept apologizing.

We were eligible for the tobi foundation long, long ago, but now we don't meet the income guidelines.

I know this is a bit OT, but i figured it was the best place to ask:

my insurance covers a generic brand of tobramycin, so i have to pay very little.

is the novartis TOBI more effective, and this worth the $3000 per month (without insurance)? I think i'd end up paying around $600 a month for it. is it really that much better?

thanks <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
