What? How the hell can they say they cannot talk to you about it? That's the craziest thing I've ever heard...is there something more to your coverage than just the usual policy? I have done medical billing and have quite a bit of insurance related experience and have never had a insurance company say something like that to the policy holder!

Best of luck -- I think you are going to need it!

I know... it is the craziest thing I have ever heard too... second is their denial after their approval. This insurance company is a real pain in the arse.
I think it is just the usual run of the mill policy, unless there is something I don't know about. I didn't know there were other types.
I do have a question for you Alyssa. The supply company has not submitted a claim for the monitor yet, but have already been told by the insurance the claim will be denied. The insurance says that is silly because the claim can not be denied until after it is submitted. Is it possible for the supply company to know ahead of time that the claim will be denied?

Thanks for the info on Beth. She helped me once before (a very long time ago.) My insurance doesn't want to cover my son's prescription Vitamin K anymore and we're on our last appeal. I'm going to give her a call.
As for the original post, have you called the state's insurance board to file a complaint/get information on what to do next?
