Hi!
As some of you might know, I am getting masters in genetic counseling. As such, we learn about CF
The other day, I found out that the mutation deltaF508 came about in one person 10,000 years ago, and everyone who has the deltaF508 mutation is descended from that one person! So, we're all related! Isn't that weird??

Have you guys ever read the Seven Daughters of Eve? Great book.

Talks about how all people of European decent come from 7 women in Europe. They are traced by via mitochondrial (Sp?) DNA, which you inherit from your mom. And she from her mom. And so on.

Most CFers are of European decent, so some of us come from the same mom!

Read the book though - it's super interesting.

That's so weird, Mary. I have a big enough family already, I don't need to add you LOSERS! lol
And I don't know either, 65Rosies. Best guess is that Coll looks like it could be pronounced Cole and that tends to come off as a male name.

I don't know why everyone calls me Colin either Sham. For the record, I'm Coll, short for Colleen, and Coll is pronounced almost like the word "call", but with less of an AH sound.
