Involved in research studies?

You are so very, very, very welcome. My lung disease is mild to moderate and anything within my power I can do to repay the debt for my longer gift of life I will do. CF breaks my heart.

Thanks for letting me know. Maci is being evaluated for the epic study right now, I hope she can be involved. They have to get all her medical records first. I am a strong believer that if we don't do studys how will they get any further with meds for our children and everyone else. I will do every study I can to help her and other people with this disease, I feel like Maci would want me to do whatever we can to further the process for a cure or to control the disease. I also think that when you are involved in a study that the medical staff is watching you closer. Maci just cultured pseadomonus for the first time about 6wks ago. The recent culture said no pseado, I was so happy for her, but she still has staph. Maci 4 wcf - W1282X and DF508

I participated in the pulmozyme study- um, 14-15 years ago (drs. suspected I was on the drug, since my functions went up). I am looking into doing another one, and I think it is the same one as Caitlin- the aztreonam lysinate with the eflow (they are supposed to be calling me about it, as I was supposed to call them in Dec., but got sick with 3 colds in a row *sigh* and couldn't start it then...).
The pulmozyme study involved alot of note taking and doing the meds 2x a day, but other than that, it wasn't hard<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">. And we were offered a year of the med free<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">.
