Hey Duke, I just got out of the hospital today. I was there for 9 days. My right lung totally collapsed last Monday morning. I felt like you did...fever, massive pain, etc. Trust me if your lung was totally collapsed you would have had no choice but to go to the hospital. It was probably a small collapse which sometimes will heal itself. I hope you check with your doc.
Anyway, I am going to be 39 years old on Fri and I just want to say "don't give up". I found out at 14 that I had CF and I was told I would live to be 16. I really abused my body (with alcohol) because I felt bad for myself. I really hope that you realize that you CAN live. Please try and keep people close to you. I am REALLY feeling just like you right now. I want to push everyone away. I am going to stay fighting this disease. I hope your there with me.

It always feels like an elephant is sitting on your chest... I have never had a collapsed lung, only broke ribs from coughing too hard. I imagine it is painful. That is something I have yet to look forward to I guess. Anyway, I would like to commiserate with people on functions getting worse, cuz that is what is happening to me as well. My functions have went down considerably - again - was just on IVs in February and it looks like I will be on them again the end of this month. Happy Happy Joy Joy....I was at one time up to 162 pounds and have managed to lose my weight so much that I am back into my "skinny" clothes (down to 135). I am getting so sick of being sick....
