Just curious...
Given my situation - me with cf and hubby a carrier - could we do IUI and only implant the sperm that are not cf carriers? I realize the child would still inherit carriership from me. Or is the 'selecting' only something that is done with PGD?

can't do IUI - that's intra uterine insemination which just means they are popping his sperm into your uterus. There isn't the technoclogy to take out the carrier sperms yet. I think in this case you'd have to go PGD.

Lauren- I think PGD/IVF is the only way to go. My husband and I are carriers for the Delta and we did IVF/PGD. We had a baby boy in June, just a carrier. They are not at the technology to just test egg or sperm. It has to be an embryo already. What are your chances being you have CF? Is it 50%? I am thinking about you and your baby, I hope things are going okay.

Megan, mom to Aidan (CF) and Gavin (no CF)
