IV side effects

I am on colistin and zoysn IVs and have been on them for a week so far. I have numbness, which I have gotten before and isn't that big of a deal. But I also have a weird feeling in my chest. It feels like all my chest/lung muscles are cramping up. It is making me a little short of breath. I have been stretching more but that doesn't seem to do anything. For awhile I thought it was just my body getting used to not being so hunched over and tensed up, now that I am getting better but I don't know.

Has anyone had this feeling before? Is it really worth calling the doctor on call about? I can deal with it, it just is an inconvenience.

Hoya sue, that doesn't sound too wonderful, if I were you I'd call doc just to make sure. May just b coincidence but if not the ivs could b doing more damage than good. Definitely worth getting checked just in case. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Side effects i've had with antbx: achy joints, headaches, sleeplessness, dyarea, <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">, tiredness.

There are also effects which indicate allergic reactions: rash, chest tighness that seriously affects your ability to breath, (which sounds like what you had), vomitting, fever, itchyness. Its best to consult a physician if you experience any of the above side affects. Having an allergic reaction to a drug is a serious issue that should be addressed.

Side effects range from drug to drug. I usually get nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain in my joints and back and general fatigue. You do have to watch out for allergic reactions though. Some even take awhile to present themselves. When I was on Zosyn I initially got a fever and pain that went away after a week. Then a week later got shortness of breath and hemoptysis...which made me stop it immediately.

I'd call just to make sure. They may want to switch out something if that's possible. I get numbness with colisitin, which makes me drop stuff all the time, so I only use it if I can't use something else.
