I had a J-tube placed in February and despite the ridiculous ordeal that turned into, it's been awesome in helping me gain weight. I no longer look disgustingly emaciated. Woo! Anyway, the tube site itself is constantly leaking. It's not a lot, but enough where I have to constantly wear a bandage which adds even more bulk and takes even more time out of my day. The docs say it's healing and takes a while - but didn't really give me any sort of time frame. I was wondering if anyone has a similar problem and how long their site took to heal enough where it wasn't leaking all the time.

Anyway, the tube site itself is constantly leaking. It's not a lot, but enough where I have to constantly wear a bandage which adds even more bulk and takes even more time out of my day. <span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #3366ff;">i had a j-tube placed in 2000 and, although it helped me greatly the first year (gained 11 pounds!), it ALWAYS leaked and was ALWAYS irritated (the acid from my system kept it red and sore)!!! it was a pain in the butt! since i eventually plateaued with weight gain and was able to maintain pretty well on my own, i had it removed in 2003.

I've never had a J-tube, but I did have a G-tube(I'm not sure if their similar?), and mine always leaked! The acid ruined so many of my shirts, it was always red around the hole in my stomach, and I would always have to put some gauze or toilet paper under the sides to try and get the acid on there, instead of my shirt. If the J-tube is similar to the g-tube, try that.
