Jadens Story

A friend of mine works for our local paper and wanted to do a story on Jaden to raise awareness as he knew nothing about CF when he found our that she tested postive for it. It took some time to say yes. I was worried about how people would react and how kids would act towards Zack. Since the story we have had nothing but great response. People have been wonderful and I even call a call from a mom whos daughter has CF. Most peopl say how beautiful she is and what a great big brother she has. Zack is pretty proud since it was posted and really kids have been alot nicer about it since they have a better understanding. I know some may have mixed feelings when it comes to telling others but trust me this wasn't a next day descison, it took some time to say yes and now I'm glad I did. I think the story was put together very nice and wanted to share it with you all.

Thank you for sharing this; it helps me feel like our experiences are normal. The frustrations, the worries, and the challenges - like when they fight their treatments. It is SO hard sometimes!

Thanks everyone. I got a call from a lady from a program that will come in and do her CPTs for me, they do all kinds of in home care. With John being a friend it was real easy to be oursleves around him and act like he wasn't here. He wanted to capture "real" life for us and he did a great job.

What a great story! I can't wait to show it to my granddaughter--she will have someone to identify with! Also her older brother, Jaykub, will appreciate Jaden's big brother. Thank you for posting this! Question--what kind of enzymes are you use? Kaylee uses Ultrase and her cf doctor doesn't want her to use more than 9 or 10 a day! He says he is worried about her pancreas being affected. How much does Jaden weigh? Maybe that is the reason. Thanks for your help.
