Jasey was in hospital wed thru fri for c-diff colitis

my little one had c-diff last year when she was just over a year old. she had not been on antibiotics or in the hospital. I don't know where she might have picked it up. We saw a GI specialist who sees a lot of kids with CF and he did tell us it was more common with CF although i have not heard a lot from others. He also told us it could take up to six months for her gut to heal after it was eradicated. That was the case with us, finally after 6 months our little one is back on her growth chart and poops are normal.

I had C Diff a few years ago when I was on Zosyn. I was told 'most people' have it in small amounts, but it can get out of hand when you kill all the good bacteria in your gut that usually keep the C Diff in line.

It was a pretty bad feeling.

ashley rain always takes probiotics when on meds. seems to keep things in line.

She was on antibiotics for strep throat. She started running a fever,diarrhea, high heart rate, dehydrated. She spent three days in the hospital and after IV fluids and several rounds of IV Flagyl she was better. She is on Flagyl three times a day now.

C diff is an infection in the colon. Everyone has a little c diff but what happens is bad bacteria takes over and you get infection with inflammation in colon. It can be very serious.
