I'm getting frustrated. I feel like I have made no progress since coming home from the hospital. The home health nurses say my lungs sound pretty clear and that I'm moving air well, but as soon as I get up and move around my chest gets tight and I get really short of breath to the point that I really can't do much. Just walking around my apt. I get out of breath. My heart rate and respirations are still high, but I'm not really coughing up anything (compared to normal).
I've talked to the doctor on call and the thought is that I may have to start some prednisone. I have never done that with IV's and the doctors don't want me to have to do it, but what other choice do I have. I have exhausted all inhaled meds and asthma type meds such as albuterol and flovent. I'm not sleeping good and I've got to get some relief from this.
Anyone else done prednisone w/ IV's. Is this really such a bad thing. THe doctors made it sound like it was really not something they wanted to do.
I should add that I feel pretty good otherwise and my appetite is even decent despite not being able to breath very well.
