Ahh I missed Coll's question about how I got into ASL. Sorry. Hehe. Actually, no I didn't know any Deaf people at all until I started here at Northeastern. I took a signed English class in my high school and even though I knew it was different than ASL, I fell in love with it. I took that class sophomore year in high school, when I was.. 15. And I've known since then that it was what I wanted to do. So when searching for a college, I intentionally looked for ones with a Bachelor's Degree in ASL... and that's what I've found here at NU. It's one of the best damn ASL programs in the country, and even though I miss home (I am NOT a city girl), I love my academic program.
