I've worked construction for years with my dad, then again I have pretty mild CF. It would definetly keep you in shape and that has to be a good thing. I'm sure you do end up breathing in some pretty harsh stuff. Do landscaping or something, I start my job at a golf course hopefully Monday. That involves some manual labor. And all last summer I painted houses.

i think carpentry is fine just know your limits of what you can do. i hav worked in that field and the only think i was careful not to sweat too much(no not lzy) but i would lose too much salt and almost pass out. So yes i've learned to pace myself over time... and dust: yeah definatly a mask

I dont know about the labor thing, but all my life I have worked with farm animals, some are surprised at that, because of the dander and hair and all, now I am a Kennel Tech training to be a vet tech and never have had a problem with it. I think too, that hard work makes me healthier.

If the dust is your only fear... a mask should take care of it. I say wear a mask, but definitely go for it. Do what you want. <3
