Some people are ultra sensitive to adhesives. I am a little sensitive, and itch some. I just scratch right over the dressing. Also, if you change dressing, sometimes alcohol will help relieve the itch some, even if it burns. Hopefully you will do ok.

I was the same way when i first starting getting picc's i wouldn't move my arm out of fear of doing something to cause a problem... Then i got used to it and now i do much better.. As far as the bandage, i would ask to try a different type, i know they have more then one type and maybe you need to switch.. Hope the rest of your tune-up goes by quickly .... <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0"> joni

I have had this problem so many times.....I have reactions eventually to all dressings on me.. I have to have dressing changes at least every three days..... Tegaderm is the worst..I can only last a day or so with one of those on and then I am sweating, itching and broken out..

Currently Sobraveiw is my favorite dressing along with IV3000.. They work good... I have about three or four different dressings that I rotate out with and that works best for me...

Sorbaveiw is most gently, most supportive and if all else fails I have something called Stratasorb which is not ideal becasue you can't see the insertion site but it is light, and when I really need a break I use that.

Call you home infusion nurse, they should have an arsenol of supplies to help you.

Hope this helps..
