I thought for sure that I had responded to this last night. must have been a dream..... Anyway, Garran has been on Resource Just for Kids 1.5 for the past 8 months or so. He started on it after leaving the ICU and after the kidney failure. He was on the Two cal HN prior to Dec 07 and then on Suplena for a while after Jan 08 til about Feb 08, and then they changed it to Just for kids because he was just not tolorating the higher concentration in the other formulas.

He has a G tube and gets 6-7 cans a day of Resource Just for Kids 1.5. PLus they have him on boost plus to supplement his nutritional needs as well because he isnt getting enough by mouth (he won't eat)

even with these vast amounts of calories he has been losing weight. Mostly because he has had lung infections spurring up. They say that once he has the Tx he will more than likely not have to have the "extra extra" calories nor the G tube. Still alot of calories and enzymes of coarse but not as much as he is getting now, just trying to breathe.

He does have some issues with nausea if we give too much to him, and if he has been swallowing his mucus he tends to start throwing up his formula quicker. So when he has an infection and has more mucus coming up, he doesnt tolorate the Just for kids, but otherwise he does fine with it.

Hope you get things worked out.

Thanks for all the posts. We're just waiting on the insurance to approve it, then we'll begin. We'll see how it goes.
