HAS ANY OF YOU THOUGHT OF JUST CALLING IT GUITS AND GIVING UP. I AM GETTING TO THAT POINT. MY CF AND MY BODY PAINS ARE JUST ABOUT TO MUCH TO HANDLE ANYMORE. IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL 6 TIMES. HAD TO GO ON DISABILITY. I HAVE LOST MY AMBITION TO DO THINGS. MY DOCTER HAS NOTICED THE CHANGE IN MY PERSONALITY AND ASK WHAT WS GOING ON. SOMETIMES I JUST DONT KNOW.

I've thought those things, and I'm not even dealing with as much as you are.

There's a quote from Dean Barnett (He died from CF just a little while ago) that I thought was really great.

"As I grew sicker, I had what for me was an extremely comforting insight. I came to view serious and progressive illness as an ever constricting circle with oneself at the center. The interior of the circle represents the contents of one's life. As the circle gets smaller, things that were inside get forced out. Some of these things are dearly missed; others that were once thought precious get forced to the exterior and turn out to go surprisingly unlamented.

At the innermost point of the circle are the things that really matter: family, faith, love. These things stay with you until the day you die. At the very end, because the circle has shrunk down to its center, they're all you have left. But as we approach that end, we finally realize that all along, they were what mattered most. As a consequence, life often remains beautiful and worthwhile right up until the end."

So, I don't know if that helps any. Sometimes, you need to just feel like life sucks for a while.

That was a nice quote that Dean Barnett said.

It's something worth pondering, especially if you are in a state of mind to try and figure what's what.

I don't consider myself much of a religious person, nor do I have such health complications.

However, I do consider myself "Philisophical" sometimes (Sometimes I think of myself as a "Stand-up Philosopher", to), but I did have what I would call a "near death" experience, or at least an incident that had greatly changed my future.

I'd also have to agree with Mockingbird...perhaps you need a bit of "life sucks" medicine before finding your "enlightenment".

As a general rule, it seems one characteristic of a CF'r is to never give in...I (and I'm sure many others who read this) hope you find what you're looking for to find peace within yourself.

Goodspeed!

I think it is hard not to want to give in when things seem never-ending. It is hard not to lose ambition when things are not going well and depression sets in. Have you taked to your Dr. about this? Maybe there is something he/she can do to help out. Since i dont know you or your situation , ( pft's, age, etc.) i will ask if whats going on with your health could possibly be improved upon? Is this a really bad run of things that you have been going thru?
Never the less, i wanted to let you know i think we have all thought of giving up when times have gotten tough. I hope you will find peace and comfort somehow. PLease update us and let us know how you are. We really do care <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">
