i dont use the "fish" with the band around the mask either, i use the pari masks which are more like cups you can hold up to them. i just ask her what movie she want to watch and we watch a show. but my daughter has been getting neb treatments since she was 3 weeks old so she is pretty use to them....doesnt like to do them....but knows she can kick and scream and i will still hold her there until were finished. (and like the last mom said...when they cry they get a deeper inhale of the meds..i know its horrible to think that way, but thats what our respirtory tech told us too.) good luck, she will get use to it eventually! its the age also!

my kids don't get to watch much tv but they are allowed some when doing their treatments. My 5 year old son is into playing card games right now. Your two year old might not be ready for that but I know lots of two year olds love to peel stickers and put them on paper. At the end of the treatment she can hang it up. Good luck. Amy mom to 3 kids, 2 with cf

You'll have to try some trial and error to find what works. You are not alone, its a struggle for most kids when they start, but it does get easier....I know that doesn't count for much right now, but it does, I promise.

I have a very independent kiddo and it helps if I include her in all the "jobs". She helps pour the ampule into the neb, connect the mask to the neb, connect the neb to the machine (then I tighten it) and she turns it on. This has done wonders in getter her to do it. I also let her hold the neb to her face so that its not me holding her down and its on her terms.

Unfortunately, until they come up with other ways to distribute these meds into their lungs, this is a way of life for CFers. Setting a routine and not giving a way out of it is essential.

Hi, If your little one likes to play with baby dolls or has a favorite stuffy try having a play nebulizer w/mask if she uses a mask for her to hold for her baby or stuffy. I guess I was "lucky", Rachel just wanted to copy her big sister so we never really had any problems. Good luck.
