Hey,
I just got home from my FIRST ever sinus surgery. WOW what a breeze. I woke up in post-op recovery and asked the nurse when were were going to start the operation! I think I feel a lot better already (could be the vicodin talking <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">)

My question is, what is best practice for the blood, drainage, etc. I knew there would be an urge to blow my nose, and I wont. Does anyone do their Water Pic after the surgery? I know they said the saline rinse, but what will that do if i cant blow my nose out after?

So, if you should share with the community your post-SS tips that would be great.

From what I understood after mine, the saline rinses were to keep the sinuses moisturized. I didn't blow my nose hard, but I did lightly blow after the saline. Just block on side and breath a little heavy... that's all. It helped move the saline forward instead of having it drain down the back of my throat... I know, gross... but oh well. Best of luck and hope the good feeling keeps up well after the vicodin wears off!

The vicodin comment made me laugh, good stuff, good stuff, lol!

My daughter 5wcf had sinus surgery last winter (they didn't give her vicodin though!) and she did the neilmed sinus rinse twice a day, she was allowed to blow her nose very lightly after the rinse. The ENT said rinses are better than saline squirts bc they help avoid the big scabs that have to be removed later on (scraping, painful, etc).

Hope you continue to feel good!
