I'd forgotten about the formula issue. When DS was first diagnosed, the hospital dietician wanted him on pregistimil, but he had such a horrible bottle aversion. She told us that babies didn't have developed tastebuds and didn't know any better. Yeah, right! The kid saw that bottle coming at him and would try to escape -- he was only a couple weeks old. So then the nurses and dietician told us we had to FORCE feed him which was horrible. Finally I asked them to get the doctor on call in the NICU -- this was after DH and I took a taste of that stuff -- tasted like vomit and the way road kill smells.
Before he started showing symptoms of the bowel obstruction, he had infamil lipil and we had no problems with him eating it (just throwing it up due to said obstruction). So we demanded that he be switched. His doctor told us to feed him what he'd eat. Think by then there was a little damage done 'cuz he still tended to have a slight bottle aversion, but not the arching his back and screaming when the bottle came at him.
