So 4 weeks ago I was discharged from the hospital. I had a 62% lung function. I was so excited. I never thought to look at the numbers other than %'s b/c I assumed the standards were the same for every machine....
2 weeks ago I ended up back in the hospital in the ICU on bi-pap b/c of a virus. Well today I did PFT's and they were only 40%....
the 62% I was so happy about is basically the same number in liters as the 40%.... how depressing. I guess I had never looked at the liter number and now to realize how far away from my "70%" lung function that I wanted it so crazy. It really makes me wonder can I gain back 30% of my lung function????
I'm just in a little bit of shock. I mean the dr mentioned the tx word today... I so have to get my ***** together!
