Kindergarten update

I had been using regular gatorade, but I worried about all the extra sugar; just thinking maybe it was wise to cut back on sugar cause I worry about CFRD. She still gets sugar in other sources; juice, candy, etc. But she drinks alot so I thought if I could cut back in sugar in a few ways, that would be good. It's nothing the doc recommended, just something I thought of my own.

Kindergarten? is that the first year of school? We would call that primary 1 in the UK. You have pre-school we call that nursery here. Craig starts his nursery today, only in the mornings so he dosnt need to take any meds while there, he dosnt use enzymes so school was never going to be much of a problem. His CF nurse went to the school and had a question and answer session with the teachers about CF in general and Craigs needs while there, also to inform her if someone else joins who has CF. Did they do that at Maggies school?
This is a brand spanking new school that has just been opened, it was opened by Gordon Brown, the UK prime minister, its all open plan and very up to date.

Glad it is going so well and thanks for sharing. I have been wondering about other kindergarteners. My daughter started all day K on 8/14 and has been loving it too. She stops by the nurses office on the way to lunch for her enzymes and then has to go down again for snacktime. That is GREAT that Maggie can take her enzymes all by herself! Mine doesn't mind going to the nurses right now, I think she actually likes it (social butterfly) but I wonder how she will feel in a few years, hopefully she will start taking them by herself like Maggie does!

I am nervous about cold/flu season too. It seems like it has already come here bc i keep hearing about stomach viruses and colds going around - yikes!

I hope Maggie continues to love school and has a great year!
