Kirkland Surface Wipes

All of us are always looking for those magical wipes that will kill those horrible germs (pseudo, staph, etc). Well- I found that Costco's brand "Kirkland" kills a lot of the yucky germs. In one package you get 3 huge containers of wipes, 2 surface cleaning wipes and 1 scrubbing surface wipes for less than $10/pkg. I was very excited. These wipes will last me forever. Just so you know, this is what the container says: "Effective in 5 minutes against Staphlococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa". Hope this helps someone. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks for the info...now if we only had a Costco! I am always teasing my husband that I have to take trips to Fargo (the next largest city to where I live) just so that I can go shopping. In reality it's just so that I can get away for a weekend with one of my daughters and just relax. It looks like I will have to take another trip soon!

I found something similar at Target. Not the huge quantities they have at costco, but smaller packages of wipes and spray. Comes in a fresh and lavendar scent -- think it's called P2 or something like that -- kills PA, MRSA, Mac and a bunch of others. Bringing it along to our next clinic appointment. Liza

There is also a new spray by Clorox called ANywhere Spray. It is suppossed to be as gently as water, so you can use it anywhere, on kids toys, ect. on hard pourous surfaces. I have already bought several bottles and used a whole one, about $3.00 a bottle. It also kills all the bad bugs and you don't have to wipe it up, just spray and let it dry!

I use the wipes as well for quick disinfection. In microbiology a few years ago we did a study on all the differnent wipes, cleaners, etc. They were true to their word as far as killing bacteria.. HOWEVER, like Melissa said, works in five minutes, so the surface areas has to stay WET for five full minutes for it to kill the bacteria....in the lab setting, No bacteria was killed just wiping a surface real quick.. I am a huge fan of Lysol spray.. I spray it... on all my bathroom appliances daily.. but again I have to spray enough for it to stay wet for five full minutes..

Just my two cents...
