Late for my period

Do the test. Don't worry about something unless you have facts to worry about. I know its easier said than done.
If its positive, call your doctor and the dad. Meet with the cf doctor and discuss your health status, your nutritional status, how your health will fare after the baby is born. There are SO many things to consider. Are you working, do you have help...the docs will help bring up these things. They are there for you, to organize all these thoughts and help you make the right decisions.
It will be ok. You have to keep telling yourself that.
Best wishes.

Hi Kelly,

I can't help to notice that you also posted about all the exercise that you are doing. That might be why you are late. Exercise CAN affect your cycle along with antibiotics, and of course pregnancy. Take a pregnancy test - the sooner the better.

Ok, first off, take a deep breath! Just because you are late does not mean you are pregnant. Have you been sick? Lost weight? Flown somewhere? All of those things and much more can influence your cyle. If you're really worried about go get a pregnancy test.

Hello and thanks for the comments you left.
I have done 2 preg. tests now and they are both negative......great! My husband has 5 kids and we talked before getting married that kids between the two of us probably wasn't the best thing for me.
I haven't lost weight, haven't been sick, nothing has changed in my life, no dieting, no antibiotics, nothing. So I'm thinking........where is my period? The ONLY thing that is different is that I did fly somewhere (I had no idea that could even affect a period....thanks frogprincess). We flew to the Dominican Rep. for vacation on Jan.12th.
What does flying have to do with periods?
So now I'm just waiting and wondering what is going on with my body that I am not having a period.
Like I said, I am 29, 5'5", 139pounds (enough body fat!). I'm just getting a little worried about my body. My periods are ALWAYS regular, like clock-work.
Thanks again everyone.

Flying and stress can delay or bring on your period. Whenever I would fly, my period would be delayed for a few days.

I would not worry about it. When you stop thinking about your period it will happen and then you might be thinking, when will it be over. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'm glad that you looked into the pregnancy test for validation. The next step should probably be to schedule a visit to the gyno to check on everything, especially since a late period is out of the norm for you. I know how it feels to panic about an out of whack cycle. I also am like clockwork, except in Nov and December when my body has psychosomatic response (I have PTSD) to a past event. I hope that you'll be able to have peace of mind soon about what's going on! That waiting and wondering is crazy-making.

A word of advice (and you can feel free to disregard): if having a larger family is too much of a strain on you, then I STRONGLY recommend looking into a more permanent approach to contraception. Unless there's some religious reason standing in the way of that, safeguarding yourself against the stress and worry and the possibility of being pregnant is worth it. You owe it to your health and to the well being of your marriage and family to be at your best, and that may mean closing the door once and for all on the possibility of becoming pregnant. It's not an easy decision to make, that's for sure.

Wishing you well.

If you've been on the pill for a while, your body may not build up uterine lining.

This means, that come period time, there is no lining for the body to shead. Nothing to shead means no period.
