Lexi's on IVs

Lexi went in for a bronchoscopy on June 5. She had been culturing a small amount of Pseudomonas and Staph in her lungs for about 2 years now. She has been on Tobi and Zithromax, but this was just kinda holding the bacteria down and not irradicating it. After her bronchoscopy they found about 10,000 organisms/ml of Staph and 10,000,000 organisms / ml of Psuedomas. Doctors were really glad we decided to be aggressive to get rid of these bugs before she started school in the fall. We went to clinic today for a check up. Her cough is worse than it was before her bronch and her PFT's were down. We may end up doing 1-2 more weeks of home IV's.

When I was 6 I got a bronc and my first 2 week course of IVs (I had IVs previously but never for 2 weeks in one go. I don't remember much, but i do have vague memories of going into hospital for one night with a drip in my arm.)
I had a terrible cough before the IVs. Basically 24/7 cough, which was unusual and bugged the heck out of everyone! After my 2 weeks of IVs, I was 110% better, and got rid of my cough. Unfortunatley, I actually cultured psuedo IN hospital, thanks to the idiotic idea of giving me a ward bed, inbetween two other older cfers with pseudo.

Oh, and I have the same mutations as your daughter <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Hope she's doing well now.
