Giving her an epidural for the pain is a FANTASTIC idea. I didn't know any hospital would actually do that. And being cut in half is certainly cause for that kind of drastic pain relief.
<begin quote>

Just a side note: I had a hysterectomy in 2005 and they did it via epidural - it was AWESOME. They removed it after a day or two and recovery time was Nill. I highly recommend them when dr's will allow - so you don't have to be knocked out and have the lung trouble

I'm continuing to read the updates for Lindsey as we receive them - sounds like she couldn't ask for more !!! Hoorayyyy for Lindsey...breathing easy

This is just the greatest news, again This is all going sooo fast!

My call came at my father's birthday, very early in the morning so i had my lungs that same day in the evening.
I had an epidural for painmanagement too, they actually asked me if i wanted it and put it in before i went to the OR. I felt absolutely no pain at all, all the time that was in, it was great. I think that was one of the things why i could take a relatively deep breath and was able to cough very soon after i was extubated.

Lindsey, keep going like this girl! And you'll even be out of there in notime

Love, Marjolein
