Who us?! As usual, he's keeping us on our toes. Never know who he'll decide to be -- we've had Krypto the Superdog, Darth Vader, Cowboys, Robots, Skeletons.... Yesterday was "western day" at preschool, so I had to take a cowboy to his late afternoon dental appointment.

Still gives us fits about eating, though he did eat baked beans yesterday for lunch -- okay it was ONE bean, but at least he tried. Amazes me how he can refuse good tasting regular food, yet doesn't have a problem with Aqua-Adeks, which he thinks tastes yummy -- makes me want to hurl.

Not sure where the summer has gone. We need to take some time to get away -- might take a weekend trip somewhere and go to the zoo, museum, amusement park... He's in gymnastics again this month twice a week. Last night he was the "shirt monster" -- pulled his shirt over his head instead of doing handstands.

His local CF appointment (in the guise of a well child exam) went okay. Though we really, really need to find a local doctor whose easier to work with and more proactive. Supposedly lost some weight, dropped below 50th percentile; however, he's got a good layer of fat on him and it might just be the scale at that clinic... Cultured Steno Malt., so his ID/CF doctor in the City put him on Septra. Had a little worry about whether he might be allergic to it and the whole photosensitive issue -- he LOVES being outside. But no spots AND a good coating of sunblock in the morning and he's good to go.

We did have some trauma about a month ago. Our new dog, which we adopted from Basset Rescue in April developed what we thought was a blocked tear duct. Took him in and turns out it was an abscessed tooth. Such a young dog -- 10 months. Ended up going into respiratory failure a week after surgery to remove two teeth -- turns out he had a very, very agressive cancer.

Pretty much our summer in a nutshell.

I spoke to a "foster" lady with Basset Rescue last night -- they've got an 8 month old dog who was relinquished because his family had to move to an apartment. Sounds like a wonderful little guy, though now that we've found another dog, I'm nervous -- I'm such a worrier. He's located on the eastern edge of the rescue area, so they're going to have to arrange for transport and then we'll probably have to drive and meet them part way -- but we were planning a long weekend one of these days to go shopping, to the museum and zoo

Last night Max greeted me at daycare with his shirt over his head -- He was Emperor Pallantine (sp) from Star Wars.

I have noticed since he's been on the Septra that the throaty, loose cough he'd been getting infrequently has since disappeared. We'll find out in October how things are going -- his doctor wants to schedule a CT scan with contrast (inhalable?) to look at his small airways.
