Liver function and distal intestinal obstruction syndrome

I am hoping that there may be some folks who have had experience with distal intestinal obstruction syndrome. My 3 and 1/2 year old daughter who was born with a meconium illeus has nwo developed DIOS. We have been trying to manage it with miralax and she is still getting constipated, it was recommended that we go see a Ped's GI and he sugested that we test her liver function and do an ultrasound on her liver. Her blood test have shown that her liver function was ok but her ultrasound has shown early signs of liver damage. I am scared to death for her. It just seems like everything that can go wrong can and is. Any advice or words of wisdom would be great.
Thanks,

Where are you located? I would first get her checked out by a local pediatric GI doc, then proceed from there. If you get to the point of needing to see a specialist, I highly recommend the Nebraska Medical Center Intestinal rehab program in Omaha. My son had MI at birth and then midgut volvulus and then necrotizing enterocolitis, leading to extreme short gut syndrome. They have done miracles in getting my son well and his liver back to functioning.
